Amazing Technology for my diabetes
Wanted to put a post about the technology that keeps me going as a biker/human being:)
First my insulin pump: Insulet OmniPodd
I absolutely love this pump. Biggest advantage is the wireless capability it has.

My insulin: Sanofi aventis apidera
Huge advantage about this is how fast it seems to work. Works I would say at least 10 minutes faster then my previous fast acting insulin.

CGMD(continuous glucos montioring device): dexcom
I love it! It works magic. Always seems to be right on with the sugars it tells me. One of my favorite things is I dont have to set alarms anymore to check sugars in middle of night. the device will beep at me if it starts to drop below limit I set.

And if anyone wants anymore information of anyone to contact about these products please email me:)

First Road Race in Philadelphia
Here is race I did: http://phillyphlyer.org/ Mostly a collegiate race but had open time trial and open 3/4 race..
3/4 race had two hills on the loop:) VERY VERY WINDY and cold:)
First in the morning we did team trial. 4 of us started on and three finished.. Out and back course and total of 8.8 miles. It was fun course and of course I was only one without aero bars:) We won the open division. Got 4th best time of day, including Princeton A team was there(all pro guys, only lost by 30 seconds to them:))
So later at 2pm our 3/4 race went off:)
Immedetialy I was anixious and went right to front, one guy got out and I hunted him down and on first hill me and three other guys broke away. We stayed away to start/finish where we dropped two of them cause they got tired from next hill. So then it was just me and another guy(justin) we worked well togther since he was fast on flats and I was fast on hills:) Continued and got around 5 minutes on the pack:) in a 26 mile race. He out sprinted as I am not a fast sprinter yet..
But overeall a fun race. 2nd place is a good start to the season:)
